Kadima

Kadima, the American-style Israeli political party: a Dry Bones cartoon.
This is one of those times that I felt like staring into the camera and just saying the simple truth ... so I did this close-up of a wide-eyed Mr. Shuldig.

I broke my rule about having a smile in the last panel. Here M. Shuldig is disturbed, rather than amused, as he reaches a conclusion about this "new" American-style Israeli political party.

Kadima (Hebrew: קדימה‎, lit. Forward) is a political party in Israel. It became the largest party in the Knesset after the 2006elections, winning 29 of the 120 seats.
It's the largest political party in Israel and it only has 24% of the votes? "American Style?" I don't think so.

One of the great disappointments of my life was coming to the realization that "who's in charge" is the only real political issue. Those of us who actullay care about the issues, whatever they may be, get trampled in the political process by those who just want to be in charge of "fixing it" even if it's not broken.

The Biggest Disaster ever to hit Israel was Kadima.Slightly behind were Sheli, "Peace Now" and The Party of the Famous Redhead Meretz. For a People with so much Logic and intellegence in this instance they cannot see the trees from the Forest.Kadima brought disunity, aprehension, loss of knowing who an Israeli was, is, and will beThe only thing that they have in common with one another(Kadima Members), is How to dismantle the Country piece by piece by piece.First Gaza, then Judea and Samaria, the The Golan, and then put up a new fence seperating Jerusalem and letting the so called Palestins fly their flag from the temple Mount(Heaven Forbid). Then Israel fortify's for the attack. What stupidity, What Nonsence,What a Disaster for The Jewish People. No wonder Mr. schuldig is NOT smiling today.Michael Gorinsky

So true!

And as always, as I view politics both here and in America, I wonder: With all the talented, intelligent people on this earth, why do we always get knuckheads as politicians? This was the best they could find?!?!?!?!?

It's very sad but true! When you ignore the one true God then your ideologies go out the window and there is only power-hunger left!

Kadimah represents the admission by much of the Israeli ruling class of the failure of traditional Political Zionist ideology of whatever "flavour" (Labour Zionist, Revisionist etc.). What is left is the core of Political Zionism which is the dissolution of traditional Jewish identity. That was Ariel Sharon's genius -- an unblinking facing up to the reality of the nature of the Political Zionist "State of Israel". Of course, the result is not pretty, but neither ever was the reality.

All this, including the comments clearly shows that Israel needs a King (with an iron fist). With that many parties, there will never be a majority to govern, that will effectively reflect the will of the people. Sadly, I must admit that your system is even worse than what we have here in Canada. We have Consevatives, Liberal(socialist), New Democrats(left of the liberals, Green party(don't understand where these folks stand except they love trees and fish, don't know if that include people)and then we have the Partie de Quebecois-a provincial party that managed to get onto the national scene.
So.... I don't know where the Kadimah party would fit in.
I guess we're both pretty mixed up!
